About the owner and therapist

I’m Caleb David Evington, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist specializing in sex, intimacy, relationships, and identity. I offer telehealth therapy for adults across North Carolina.

My work is grounded in the belief that healing often begins when we can tell the truth about our lives without shame. Many people come to therapy after years of adapting, performing, pleasing, avoiding, surviving, or trying to fit into roles that no longer feel honest. I help clients slow down, understand these patterns, and move toward a more integrated relationship with themselves and others.

Before opening Evington Therapy and Consulting, I spent the first years of my career working with childhood traumatic stress across foster care, adoption, school-based services, and trauma-focused outpatient therapy. I later moved into psychosocial oncology, where I support individuals and couples navigating the emotional, relational, sexual, and existential impact of cancer and major life disruption.

My approach is warm, direct, collaborative, and affirming. I draw from person-centered, narrative, psychodynamic, relational, trauma-informed, and somatic frameworks. I am especially interested in how safety, embodiment, desire, shame, communication, and identity shape our capacity for intimacy and connection.

As a queer man who came out later in life, I care deeply about working with people who are making sense of sexuality, identity, religious or cultural conditioning, relationship transitions, and the tender process of becoming more honest with themselves. Whether you are exploring long-held questions, navigating a relationship shift, or trying to feel more at home in your body and life, I offer a space where these conversations can happen with care, clarity, and without shame.
